The launch of The Painless Artist was created 100 years after the launch of the surrealism movement founded by the talented Andre Breton (1896 - 1966). Surrealism influenced the arts and culture and is very much alive today 100 yeas on since the publish of The Surrealism Manifesto. The aim of surrealism is to bring out the subconscious through automated drawing, dreams and it doesn't have to make sense in reality, hence you will see juxtaposition being used in many pieces of artwork. Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Yves Tanguy, Rene Magritte, Georgia O'Keeffe and Kay Sage are some of the artists that used surrealism principles to express their work.

The Painless Artist thought process uses the same principles. The more he looked into other artists and art videos he found his thought process was very aligned with surrealism, and started making sense of his experiences, interests and his visual references to decay with metamorphic shapes that resemble human forms. Wayne found reassured his method, style was validated after researching and exploring surrealism is still very much alive 100 years on.
